Bavaro’s Pizza is located in a historic office building in downtown Sarasota. After a complete renovation, Holliday Group built back this stunning Italian restaurant and bar into what it is today. This two story renovation included structural and civil engineering work.

The Challenge

Complex permitting and compliance requirements for energy efficiency, fire protection, and accessibility can delay approvals and increase costs.

The Strategy

Early Collaboration: Engage local building officials, architects, and engineers early in the design phase to preempt regulatory issues.
BIM (Building Information Modeling): Use BIM to simulate code compliance, identify conflicts (e.g., HVAC vs. sprinkler layouts), and streamline design reviews.

Dedicated Compliance Manager: Assign a team member to track permit timelines, inspection milestones, and documentation for accountability.
